This unique climbing and trekking experience offers one-of-a-kind views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, to advanced beginner and intermediate climbers who want to explore the region. Additionally, nightly stays in Sherpa villages provide boundless opportunities for cultural enrichment by observing local customs or attending museums and places of worship.
This trip is only suitable for fit individuals, due to the amount of climbing and walking at high altitudes. Treks occur between March and May or September and November in order to avoid the midsummer monsoons. Gear and warm clothes are required for the excursion; some companies will provide gear as part of their price or rent it out to those who need it. A permit, activity insurance, and certified guide are required to trek and climb in the Khumba region. Additionally, international travelers (with the exception of Indian nationals) will be required to secure a 30-day visa at minimum.
