In the Laya Gasa Trek, you get the opportunity to traverse a 5,000m+ mountain pass, see ancient nomadic life of some of the highest settlements in the world, soak in Bhutan’s remoteness and its unique flora and fauna and enjoy spellbinding views of many of the high Himalayan mountains.
Bhutan is located in a remote part of the world and you will need to change multiple flights to get in and out of Paro, the country’s only international airport and hub for most adventure activities. All treks in Bhutan require permits, which can be obtained only through a registered Bhutanese travel agency. Point to note: many of the trek routes are closed for Indian and Chinese nationals. Please check with your operator for details.
Bhutan does not have railways and, therefore, you have to resort to the means of road transport. There are local taxis that run on a flat rate.
