You’ll take an early flight from domestic terminal of International Airport, Kathmandu to Lukla. I’m sure that entire flying time you’ll keep engaged yourself with the awesome views of breathtaking mountains. After landing on Lukla and taking short rest, you’ll head towards Phakding by following the Dudh Koshi river and cross a suspension bridge. On the trail, you’ll see chorten, mani stone, and prayer flag. On this first day trial, you’ll start to view beautiful mountains like Karyolung, Nupla, and Gongla. You’ll take rest at several stops for a tea break or lunch break. You’ll spend a night on Phakding.
We start our walk soon after breakfast. Today’s trek is exciting not only due to few uphill and downhill walks but also because of crossing and re-crossings of Dudh Koshi River and magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku (6,608m/21,675ft) from the Benkar village. We cross more bridges and reach Monjo. We get our trekking permits checked at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. We tumble down and a gradual walk brings us to Jorsale, the last village until Namche Bazaar. The walk is enjoyable through the river bed and we reach Hillary Suspension Bridge. As we climb up towards Namche Bazzar, magnificent sight of Kwangde Peak, Kusum peak, Kangaru peak, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, and many other magnificent mountains greet us. We break at the Chautara to admire the view. Finally, we reach the colorful village of Namche Bazzar, the main trading village in the Khumbu.
Acclimatization is very important to avoid altitude sickness. You will go on a day hike through the villages of Khunde and Khumjung and come back to Namche through the Everest view hotel Khumjung. You can see the scalp of a Yeti in the monastery in the region. You will enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and other mountains on a fair day. After a savory breakfast, you will take a steep 1h climb to the Syangboche airstrip (3790m), from where you will slowly ascend towards Khunde passing numerous chorten (stone Buddhist monuments). From Khunde you will follow the trail eastwards to Khumjung, the largest village in the Khumbu region, at the foot of the sacred peak Khumbila. After having lunch at Khumjung, you will follow a gradual climb to Everest View Hotel where you will enjoy the splendid mountain views. Then you will descend to Namche to spend your second night there (3540 m).
Upon breakfast in Namche, we set out towards Tengboche, enjoying superb view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku. Our trek follows more or less smooth trail with few ups and downs which will not bother us as the magnificent view of the Himalayas keeps our company all through the journey. Along the way, we can spot wildlife musk deer, a herd of Himalayan Thar and multicolored pheasants. The trail goes gradually down up to Kayangjuma. The path eventually reaches Sansa, which is the major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp. The track then follows through the pine forests and after we cross the prayer flags festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, we reach Phunki Thenga, a small settlement with a couple of teahouses and a small army post amidst the alpine woods. After having a relaxed lunch at Phunki Thenga, we gear up for a slightly tougher climb through the pine forests before we reach Tengboche. Tengboche is a great place for close up views of Mt Ama Dablam, Mt Nuptse, and Mt Everest, and it has the biggest Buddhist Monastery of the Khumbu region.
Today trek begins with first descend through the rhododendron forests and then gradual steep climbs. After climbing countless mani stones, first you’ll reach Pangboche.Again, the trail ascended and past Shomare and Orsho to Dingboche and here you’ll spend your night.Dingboche is famous for a summer settlement for yak grazing. On the way to Dingboche, you’ll see a lot of yaks grazing over a slope of the cliff. The amazing view of mountains like Lhotse, Amadablam, and Taboche will be beyond your expectations.
This would be your second acclimatization day in course of your Everest Base Camp Trek and you are suggested to stay active.
From Dingboche the trail heads north with the path ascending gradually for about 40 -50 minutes as you approach a stupa with mani prayer wheels. From here it’s a gentle trail over the stony meadow overlooking Pheriche village (4270m/14009ft) down below. After a pleasant walk of 1.5 to 2 hrs the trail reaches Thugla after crossing a small wooden bridge over the raging Khumbu glacial river. From here a steep 1 hr walk will take us to a resting spot that fantastically showcases Everest and other prominent Himalayan peaks. A gradual ascent of 1.5 to 2 hours will take us to Lobuche, which comes as a surprise as it is a very tiny settlement, well-hidden and sheltered from the wind, a pastoral home of yak herders.
You will go on a hike up to Gorakshep in the morning. The first part is nice and easy but the trail gets harder, which is compensated by a really nice view on big walls formed by Everest, Nuptse and other mountains. Our desire of being at Everest Base camp is going to be fulfilled today. Everest does not seem to get any nearer and by now we have five of the world’s highest mountains in such a small area. We see crest of north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. The trail ascends the side of the glacier for a couple of hours before we finally drop onto the glacial moraine itself. Not far to go now, the trail winds up and down through fascinating ice seracs to Everest Base Camp. We do not get views of Mt Everest but can see the notorious Everest Ice Fall that flows from the Western side. The Ice Fall is regarded as technically the hardest and most dangerous section of the mountain. If its spring we will see colorful tents that arises charisma in the gray surroundings. By now we have met the ultimate objective of our trip. Spend some time taking photos in the natural amphitheater. Trek back to Gorakshep.
Early morning hike to Kalapatthar, a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt.Pumori, which is a popular peak for expedition groups to acclimatize and to perform practice climbs before attempting higher summits. View from here is beyond imagination, Everest seems just a stone’s throw away between Nuptse and Lhotse while other snowcapped giants dominate the surrounding view. The Everest Base Camp is also visible from here on the Khumbu Glacier. After a wonderful time here we’ll descend back to Gorakshep and continue our journey to Pheriche. It’s a downhill walk most of the way after reaching Thugla where the Dingboche trails branches off and our route descends further down to the flat Pheriche valley. After that we will trek to Pangboche and spend the night overthere.
Our return trek begins early in the morning as we will be tracing our steps back to Namche from Pangboche today. Comparatively it will be most of downhill trek with gradual and few about an hour of ascents. We can also feel that breathing gets easy as we descend on lower altitudes. We get different insights into the same place while coming back through the same trail. We shall then buy souvenirs at Namche, take a shower, and get relief from tiresome muscles. After long walking day, we shall reach Namche during late afternoon and stay overnight in Namche.
Today is our celebration day as it is our final trekking day at Lukla. Walking across the Phakding, crossing several river tributaries, we enjoy the fresh Himalayan atmosphere, grab a drink, dance and overall celebrate our successful trek with our trekking guides, porters and team. Tipping is expected, and our clients shall be the part of contributing something to our guides and porters as thanksgiving which can also be considered as doing something for local people and society. At the end of the day, we finally stay overnight at quality lodge in Lukla.
As the sun rises today in the morning, it resembles happiness and feeling of a satisfaction among us. We pack our luggage, baggage and get ready to fly from Lukla to Kathmandu early in the morning. Due to uneven weather conditions after noon, usually flights will takeoff in the morning. After landing at Kathmandu and checking into your hotel, enjoy free time until end of the day. You are recommend to go for spa, take short day trip to visit around UNESCO heritage sites or simply take rest at your hotel. Make the most of your trip in Nepal. Later overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Our trip officially concludes today. Our representative will transfer you to the airport from where you will catch your flight. Bid goodbye to this beautiful nation as you fly to your next destination.

Reccy Points earned for booking a particular trip cannot be redeemed until the start date of that trip.
Reccy Points cannot be earned in a booking, in the event the customer is availing any other benefit, such as a discount or is applying a promo code.
When redeeming Reccy Points in a transaction, the customer will earn Reccy Points only on the portion of the booking amount for which he / she is not paying through Reccy Points.
Example:
If you book a trip for INR 10,000, including 5% GST, total payable will be INR 10,500.
After you make the full payment for this booking, on the start date of this trip you shall receive 5% of the trip value as Reccy Points, in this case 500 Reccy Points will get deposited as your loyalty point balance.
On your next booking, let’s assume the trip value is INR 15,000, and total payable including 5% GST is INR 15,750. The Everest Base Camp trek is probably in the bucket list of every adventurer and offers awe-inspiring views of a concentration of eight-thousanders. The end point of this trek is the first southern Base Camp for the expedition to Mt. Everest from the Nepalese side and is buzzing with activity from March to May every year, when some of the top mountaineers in the world attempt the summit . Soak in the history of this revered mountain, and immerse yourself in Buddhist tradition and local Nepalise culture when you do this unforgettable trip.
The trek starts from Lukla (2926m) which frequently experiences uncertain and harsh weather. Hence, for the trip from Lukla to Phakding, an extra day should be budgeted. As you gain elevation, hand in hand the price of the eatables and other important accessories also shoot up. We advise that you carry a few essentials like winter clothing, water disinfectant, nutri bars, nuts, and woolen clothing. Water is costly, you will be better off by filling your bottle at the streams and disinfecting them with purifying tablets, which you can buy in the market of Namche Bazaar or Kathmandu. Most trekking groups establish their camp at Gorakshep, about 3km from the EBC. Here, many trekkers show symptoms such as headache, whooping cough, nausea or maybe fever due to altitude sickness, which will need special attention before you get ready for the descent.
The Government of Nepal requires non-Nepalese hikers to obtain two permit cards for the Everest Base camp trek: (1) TIMS or Trekkers Information Management System card which can be obtained at Thamel in Kathmandu for USD 20 if you are solo, and USD 10 per person if you are in a group, and (2) entry pass to the Sagarmatha National Park which can be obtained at Monjo village, en-route from Lukla to Phakding for USD 30 plus taxes.

The round trip from Kathmandu to the EBC and back takes somewhere between 11 to 14 days. While the ascent from Lukla to EBC takes approximately eight days, the descent takes 4 to 5 days in total. You should keep a day or two in between your hike from Lukla to the Everest Base Camp for acclimatization purposes. Also, keep a day or two in hand for the unpredictableness of weather changes and flight delays at the Lukla airport.
Though the name - Everest Base Camp Trek sounds really daunting, the actual trek is not so difficult. Anyone with basic trekking skills and an optimum fitness level can do this trek. The reason is that the trek includes appreciable time for acclimatization and you can do the trek quite slowly.
The Everest Base Camp trek is usually a safe and harmless affair. It is less dangerous than climbing Everest itself. The number of deaths reported varies from 3-5 to 15-20 each year. The deaths are mostly due to adverse weather conditions, fatal extents of altitude sickness, unexpected avalanches, and even fall from great heights. That being said, this expedition is extremely safe if you are considering trekking in groups or being accompanied by porters and guides.
The Everest Base Camp Trek is moderately challenging. The highest point of this trek is Kala Patthar, situated at 5550 meters. The entire expedition might pack many challenges like unpredictable weather, poor signal, absence of basic amenities and hygiene as the altitude increases, etc. But the difficulty level of the trek in itself is not very high.
You can view some stunning Himalayan mountains from the Everest Base Camp like the Nuptse, Pumori, and Khumbutse, but not Everest! For witnessing Everest, you need to do a steep climb from the EBC to Kala Patthar- at an elevation of 5550 meters. Kala Patthar’s summit is the perfect place to view the panoramic scenery of Mt. Everest and other mighty Himalayan peaks like Makalu, Lhotse, South Col, etc.
The cost for hiking varies with different travel guides and tour operators, and agencies. You can even go for the Everest Base Camp Trek independently with just a porter and a guide. In such cases, the minimum cost of traveling to the Everest Base Camp is around USD 650 - 750 per person. This cost includes everything from transport, essential permits, accommodation, and food. The porter costs an additional USD 10 to 15 per day, whereas the guides will cost you approximately USD 30 to 35 per day. If you include the optional extras for snacks, drinks, hot showers in between, then the price might go up to USD 750 per person. Tours that include a highly qualified trek leader or a chief experience officer, or a traveling team of chefs, or those that arrange accommodation in private eco camps, or include detours for sightseeing, and/or includes a few days of accommodation in Kathmandu can cost you a much higher price.
